Charles Andrews
Co-Founder and CEO
Subsequent to active military service as a Scots Guards officer, Charles became a private client stockbroker before becoming the Deputy CEO and co-owner of a global security and risk management group. The US operating company of the group listed on NASDAQ in 2009. As one of eleven senior executives from across the private security industry, he helped establish The British Association of Private Security Companies (BAPSC) in 2006. In 2011 Charles joined Ergo, a leading US intelligence and advisory firm, as Partner responsible for strategy and international development. Charles has over 25 years experience in various aspects of security, intelligence and crisis management in the public and private sector, and in 2015 established DS-48 with Trevor.
Trevor Foster-Black
Co-Founder and Non-Executive Chairman
After serving as a Scots Guards officer in Northern Ireland and the First Gulf War Trevor developed and led the Land Mine Reconnaissance Programe for the HALO Trust in Mozambique at the end of the Civil War. In 2002 he founded and developed Coalition into the leading global analytics and intelligence company within global financial markets. Coalition provides ongoing detailed intelligence and analytics to the world’s largest banks and trading houses with staff embedded in in-house strategy teams. Trevor sold Coalition to Standard and Poors in 2012. Trevor also acts as adviser and board member to start-up companies in the data and intelligence fields.
JAMIE LOWTHER-PINKERTON LVO, MBE, DL
Non-Executive Director
Jamie recently retired as the Principal Private Secretary to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry (2005-14). He co-founded Objective Team, a company that trains journalists and others professions in hostile environments. Jamie served in the Irish Guards, commanded G Squadron SAS, and held the prestigious position of operations officer for the Chief of the Defence Staff (95-98). He is also a trustee of the HALO Trust and a trustee to the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Jamie is a Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk, an Honorary Master of the Bench at Middle Temple and an Extra Equerry to The Duke of Cambridge.
Tessy De Nassau
Director of Communications
Tessy has extensive expertise working in institutions and diplomacy. She holds the title of Global Advocate for Young Women and Adolescent Girls at UN Aids. In addition, Tessy is an associate fellow in the Global Health Security Centre at Chatham House in the UK and is on the board of advisory for GoPurpose UNSDSN (United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network). In 2015, Tessy co-founded an educational non-profit called Professors Without Borders where she holds the position of Director of Logistics. Tessy works closely with high profile individuals and institutions such as NATO, UNAIDS, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisory, CARITAS, and the Luxembourg Institute of Health. Finally, Tessy was an officer in the Luxembourg Army for five years and served as a NATO Peacekeeper in Kosovo. She was awarded the NATO medal for her work. Tessy’s expertise in the domain of diplomacy, security and communications are an asset to the DS-48 team.
Nick Nash
Director of Special Projects
Nick, a 20 year veteran of the SAS, is a highly experienced and respected security and risk professional who has worked internationally for a variety of entities. He co-founded Objective Team with former military colleagues focusing on training journalists and others working in hostile environments. He has since acted as a senior risk advisor to public figures as well as being a registered Kidnap and Ransom negotiator with Lloyd's of London. Nick’s career has given him specialisms in counter-terrorism, the application of military intelligence techniques to commercial environments as well as a deep experience in physical and cyber protection strategies.
Anna Skylakaki
Head of Business Operations
Anna joined DS-48 from Deloitte Consulting, having worked on numerous strategy, design and implementation projects across the public and private sectors. She has well-rounded experience across change management, including organisation, processes, and technology. Anna also has a background in procurement, including the management of operational, legal and financial risk.
Edward Birrell
Crisis Manager
Edward joined DS-48 after serving six years as an officer in the British Army gaining experience in strategy, risk and management during high level appointments within a NATO Headquarters and on operations which included two deployments to Afghanistan

Paddy joined DS-48 after working in market intelligence in the maritime industry, helping clients monitor market fluctuations and vessel movements. He has led sales teams globally in structuring bespoke solutions for everyone from large corporations to private individuals.
